Fiji Backpacking Vacation Guide

Fiji Islands has long been a favorite destination for backpackers. Its convenient location on major international airline routes across the South Pacific makes it a great stopover for backpacking travelers on a ' see the world ' holiday. The percentage of backpack visitors to Fiji Islands has decreased in recent years but this is not due to a fall in visitor numbers, but due to a greater increase in additional hotels and resorts. In fact, a whole host of new inexpensive accommodation options have opened in Fiji since 2000. Many of these are locally-owned and operated and located in the Yasawa islands within easy reach of Nadi. Other new and exciting budget options have opened on or close to the main island, such as Robinson Crusoe Island and Volivoli Beach Resort. Others have opened up on the larger outer islands.

This is the latest and greatest trend in Fiji, providing funky stylish accommodation. Though a bit more expensive than backpacker accommodation, it suits a lot of today's Fiji backpackers who have a bit more spare cash, and want a bit more comfort on their extended world traveling trips.
